In a world where meaning matters more than ever, jewellery is not just about adornment, it’s about intention. Where do the materials come from? Who shapes them? How do they touch the earth before they ever grace your body?
My name is Lori Francescutti, and my jewellery is a meditation on grounding elements crafted by heart and hand in Haliburton, Ontario. Each piece I create is forged from solid gold or silver, sculpted around painterly gemstones and born from a desire to connect with the spirit and substance of our planet. Whimsical yet bold, my designs reflect something deeper than beauty: they hold space for emotion, memory and ethical transformation.
That’s why I’m embracing Fairmined gold in my work.
A Natural Evolution Toward Ethical Luxury
As someone who works closely with materials and the soul they carry, I’ve always been drawn to the integrity of the artisan-made process. But I found myself asking—how can I more deeply integrate my connection to the planet into my jewellery?
Fairmined gold is my response to a deeper call to align my creative practice with the well-being of the planet and its people. It bridges the emotional essence of handcrafted design with the practical action of responsible sourcing. By using Fairmined gold, I can ensure that every whimsical loop and bold flourish in my work is grounded in ethical roots.
What is Fairmined Gold?
Fairmined is a certification system that guarantees gold is sourced from responsible artisanal and small-scale mining organizations. It ensures that miners receive fair wages, safe working conditions, and that mining practices prioritize environmental sustainability.
It also means traceability—knowing the exact origin of the gold and the impact it has on the lives of those who mined it. Each gram carries not only physical weight but ethical weight.
In a world where mining is often associated with exploitation and destruction, Fairmined gold proves another reality is possible. It aligns with the integrity I strive for in every piece I make.
Why This Matters![]()
I’ve always been drawn to materials with soul—stones that shimmer like watercolours, silver and gold that tell their own stories when shaped by fire. My studio practice is about transformation—turning raw elements into works of personal and spiritual significance. So it felt only natural to extend that principle to the origins of my materials.
Working with solid gold and silver, I see my role not only as an artist but as a steward. Incorporating Fairmined gold into my collections deepens that responsibility and allows my customers to wear something that reflects their values just as much as their style.
What This Looks Like in My Work
The L and B Chains from my Essentials Collection are available in 18k Fairmined Gold by special order.
As I begin integrating Fairmined gold into my jewellery collections, I see endless possibilities. Imagine:
A bespoke engagement ring featuring a vibrant, responsibly-sourced gemstone framed in buttery Fairmined yellow gold, its organic form echoing the earth it came from.
A talisman pendant or charm, crafted not only with hand and fire, but with heart and ethics, commemorating a significant moment in your life.
A limited capsule collection inspired by the origin stories of the gold—each piece named after the mine or the people behind it.
Each design will carry its own visual language—whimsical, bold, painterly—but grounded in a deeper narrative: one of consciousness, sustainability, and respect.
The Synergy Between Fairmined Gold and My Practice
Here’s how Fairmined gold now flows into my work:
Handcrafted with Consciousness: My process is slow, intentional, and hand-fabricated—qualities that align beautifully with Fairmined's commitment to traceability and craft.
Gemstones Meet Gold with a Story: Just as I seek out evocative, painterly stones from responsible sources, I now pair them with gold that has its own narrative, sourced ethically from empowered communities.
Canadian-Made, Globally Minded: While I craft each piece in Haliburton, Ontario, the gold I work with has a positive impact that echoes through communities in South America and beyond.
A Continuation of Connection: Each piece I make is designed to forge a personal connection with its wearer. Fairmined gold adds another layer to that bond by connecting you to the hands, hopes, and earth that shaped the gold itself.
Integrity in Every Detail: From initial sketches to the finished piece, using Fairmined gold reinforces the values behind my work: transparency, respect for the planet, and a deep belief in beauty with purpose.
Fairmined gold doesn’t change the way I design, but it transforms the emotional and ethical resonance of the materials in my hands. It aligns perfectly with the way I already approach jewellery with reverence, creativity, and a deep respect for the elements.
To me, jewellery is sacred. It holds energy, intention, and story. With Fairmined gold, that story becomes even more powerful.

Let’s Redefine What Luxury Looks Like
Luxury has often been defined by rarity, shine, and price. But I believe the new luxury is defined by care for how something is made, who it supports, and what it stands for.
By integrating Fairmined gold into my studio practice, I’m not just adding a new material, I’m embracing a new philosophy of adornment. One where elegance meets right relationship, and where beauty begins beneath the surface, shaped by the land, the hands, and the heart.
If you’ve ever wanted to wear jewellery that reflects your values—pieces made with heart, hand, and purpose—I invite you to explore this journey with me.
Together, we can craft a future where the stories we wear shine just as brightly as the gold they’re made from.
Made with heart and hands in Haliburton, Canada.
